CHAMPIONS'CUP 1968-69

Note: substitutions of two players at any game time were allowed.

Obligatory match dates were introduced (two weeks between the legs) and fixed on Wednesdays. The 'double away goal value' rule was extended to the whole competition

Note: 31.08 at Bern the Extraordinary UEFA Commitee changed the results of first round draw (from 10.07) following the invasion of Warsaw Pact troops on Czechoslovakia. Only pairs in which "western" teams met "eastern" ones were redrawn, to avoid political complications (originally: Ferencváros - Celtic, Levski - AC Milan, FC Zürich - Dinamo Kiev, Spartak Trnava - Malmö FF, Steaua Bucuresti - Akademisk BK, AS St.Etienne - Ruch Chorzów).
